I was asked last minute to shoot this wedding for a friends sister. I am always down for helping my friends out so was excited to be apart of Joan’s special day. The wedding was located at Pettibone Gazebo in La Crosse Wi. They wanted a extremely low key wedding with only a couple family members attending and some of the couples closest friends. This was my second wedding of the season so It was nice to have complete free reign and work out some cool shots. I am extremely happy for Paul’s sister Joan and happy I could do the couple a favor and capture the day for them.

Decided to grab some animal masks that we had purchased at the Madison Henry Villas Zoo and hit the back alleyways of La Crosse with a Nikon Sb800 speed light and a couple friends for an afternoon.

Took a leap into the medium format film world. Very excited to use this on projects and have some fun!
This was my first wedding of the season (and actually first wedding in over a year :/) So I was a little nervous going into this one. I was invited on this shoot from a good friend of mine Dawn Silva, (dawnsilvaphotography.com) The wedding was located at an amazing Bed & Breakfast right downtown La Crosse WI. The house was HUGE which made it really easy to capture great pictures during the day and provide plenty of options. It was a very beautiful day and a great start to my 2010 wedding season! A lot more pictures to come in the near future!!!! Congrats Ashley, Travis (and Dawn) for letting me capture this beautiful day!

This is a set up from our shoot with the band “Orwell.”
Pictured is a large octabox with an ab800
far back and right is a bare ab400.
some of the edited shots will be posted here
On Top Of The World!
I received a call from my friend Tynan, Serotonin zero in the online world, about this really awesome hiking trail that will lead us to the top of a giant bluff here in the city of La Crosse. I figured we would give it a try and take some pictures of the landscape. Before we left there was on and off rain from scattered clouds that made for a pretty epic sky. We met up around 7:30 and sped to the site of the trail. We were losing daylight fast so we decided we would try to run this hiking trail… That wasnt such a hot idea. About 5 minutes into that idea we were both crouched over gasping for our air back. Let me remind you i had a backpack on with what felt like 100 lbs of gear and tynan also having similar.
We finally made it to the top and took some fantastic photos and had a very fun time
we used a nikon D700 with a 14-24mm 2.8 wide angle and for the strobe we used a nikon sb80dx speedlite triggered by cybersyncs.
enjoy
These are a few of the final shots of Sam. We will be posting some strobe shots as well within the day.
All of these were shot with a Nikon D700 and a 50mm 1.4G
